The innovative approach is to map all elements of the food value chain in a functional and spatial programme (from sowing to selling), which should lead to efficiency gains. The multifunctional building will be extended for uses that will be open to the public — for growing their own food and for events.
Great importance is attached to the democratisation of vertical farming in this project. Users will be given the opportunity to produce their own food all year round.
The demonstrator is intended to make vertical farms tangible, calculable and realisable for urban developers, property developers and real estate developers.
